Normally I’d be posting this on my teaching blog but I’m so behind over there.
One of my schools held a fashion-show as a fundraiser for their Student Council trip to DC. 75% of my students live below the poverty level and most have never left Decatur let alone visited a big city- it will be such a great experience for them.
It was a huge success. I also work at Macys- they were fabulous and lent us 20 outfits for the models. (I had way too much fun picking out clothes- esp a size 5/6 Nike tracksuit for a little miniature kindergarten boy). So many kids came up to me and said “Thanks Miss L, this was awesome!” and that totally made my week.
Anyway, this is a fun picture that I can actually post because my student’s face is obscured and thus safe to share.
Sidenote: Two of my coworkers were in charge of music and the script… For our Spring Casual line she played Kris Kross. I laughed when I noticed that the 6th grade girls and I were both pretending to scratch records at WIGGITY WIGGITY WACK. My life is now complete.
